Karen Martindale Fregia, passed away Monday, September 2, 2024.
Born on August 14, 1947, she lived a life filled with a genuine love for simple pleasures and the people around her. She delighted in spending time with her pets-Tamale, Pipit, and Patches-and was always up for a game, whether it was 42, Train, Bunco, or a round of Yahtzee on her iPad.
Karen's career spanned various fields, from management roles in construction to owning a boutique and later transitioning into real estate, where she made her mark and forged many cherished friendships. Her collections of monkeys and Day of the Dead memorabilia were personal treasures that reflected her unique taste.
A committed member of First Baptist Church Corpus Christi, Karen actively participated in Sunday School. She was also very engaged with the YWCA. She treasured the moments spent with her daughter, Kara, and granddaughter, Avey, embracing their shared laughter and enjoying life's moments together.
With her bright orange nail polish and down-to-earth nature, Karen had a remarkable ability to go with the flow and find humor in life's ups and downs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Millie and Rabon Martindale; her brother, Donald Martindale; and her husband, Benjamin Fregia. She is survived by her daughter, Kara Miller (Curtis Miller); granddaughter Avey Miller; and her brother, Lanny Martindale.
Karen will be remembered for her strength, sense of humor, impeccable fashion, love for her family, friends, and pets, and her love of dessert and the simple joys in life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 11:00am at First Baptist Church Corpus Christi in the chapel (3115 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78404).
