Karen Padilla Haynes, a beloved figure in the community, passed away on October 25, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love and service that is cherished by all who knew her. Born on May 11, 1955, in Franklin, Tennessee, Karen dedicated her life to helping others, becoming a beacon of hope for many during her 40+ year career as the HR Director of Children and Families Services with the State of Tennessee.
Her infectious smile could light up a room and often did. Karen had a servant's heart, always reaching out to those in need, lending a helping hand or a comforting word. Her spirit of kindness and compassion impacted the lives of countless individuals.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jeff Haynes, who was not only her partner in life but also her greatest supporter and friend. She is also survived by her sister, Kathy Van Horn; brother, Wesley Padilla, and many cherished nieces and nephews who will forever remember her as a source of encouragement and warmth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufe and Mary Elizabeth Padilla; brother, Frank Padilla and her sister, Mary Harris. They welcomed her into their arms, creating a reunion filled with joy and love.
Visitation with the Haynes family will be held at Lawrence Funeral Home on October 27, 2024, from 4 PM to 6 PM. Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM Monday with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at College Grove Cemetery, Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
As we remember Karen, let us carry forward her spirit of generosity, kindness, and unwavering love. Her impact on our lives will continue to inspire us to be better, to love deeper, and to extend the same help she so selflessly offered throughout her life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Church of Arrington.
