Karen Ann Kemerly

The family of Karen Ann Kemerly, age 65, of Fortville make known her death on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from illness. She was born in Greenfield on August 29, 1960, to M. Glenn and Jean E. (Peek) Kemerly. Following graduation from Mount Vernon High School in 1978, she received her professional degree from the University of Indianapolis in 1983.

Karen worked as a registered nurse at Community Hospital Network in Indianapolis for forty-one years before retiring in 2024. In this capacity she helped many and will be remembered for her compassion, joyful nature, and competence. Karen was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nursing. She loved traveling, going to the beach, doing puzzles, playing games, and especially loved spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her sister, Sharon Kemerly; brother, Robert Kemerly; godchild, Mary Nosek; and many cousins and good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at The Chapel at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, 9088 W. 1025 S., Fortville, IN 46040, with a Celebration of Life Service will starting at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 523 S. Merrill St., Fortville, IN 46040. Interment will be held at a later date at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
