Karen Ann Kordell

Karen Ann Kordell, age 66, of Oakdale, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025.

Karen's Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am, Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 6133 15th Street N, Oakdale, MN 55128 with gathering time prior to the service starting at 9:30 am until the time of service. Family Interment service will take place at Union Cemetery in the Spring.

Karen was born the youngest of 4 kids to Donald and Agnes Kordell July 25,1959 in St. Paul Minnesota.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Steven and Joseph. She is survived by sister, Susan (Robert); lifelong partner, Paul Bednarek; four children, Kristen (Hunter), Kelly (Justin), Kayla (Nick), and Kyle (Steven); and five grandchildren, Carter (11), Ryann (7), Michael (5), Chloe (3), and Tyler (1); as well as many friends, cousins, nieces and nephews along with special family friend, Jan Bednarek.

Paul and Karen knew each other their entire lives, growing up 3 houses apart. A "spark" was rekindled in 1987, and they forever honored a lifelong commitment to each other. It was love that brought their four beautiful children into the world along with their amazing five grandchildren.

Karen grew up in the Oakdale area and continued to call it home her entire life. After graduating from Tartan High School, she was employed by Plastics INC. as a quality control inspector. She retired from JD Products in 2021 where she also served as a quality control inspector.

Karen's hobbies and interests included wolves, unicorns, cards, board games, playing "bean bags" shopping for "deals", watching mystery shows, gardening, Tom Petty, relaxing and spending time in front of a back yard fire. Ultimately, the most important thing in her life was spending time with her family, grandchildren, friends and their dog "Scout."

Karen was an amazing unselfish person who always put the needs of everyone before her own. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her family. She made the world a better place by bringing joy, wisdom, laughter, smiles, open arms and knowledge to those she touched.

She has left us the "blueprint" on how to live a spiritually fulfilling life. Although no longer physically with us, she will always remain in our "hearts" and walking by our side. Blessed are those who were blessed by her, those she touched, and those who brought meaning to her life.

We will see you again.
