Baue Funeral Home - O'FallonKaren Louise Manahan (nee Steiner), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the age of 71. Loving wife of James Thomas Manahan; beloved daughter of the late Elvin Arthur and Bernice Louise Steiner; devoted mother of James C. (Alison) Manahan and Carrie M. Bock; cherished grandmother of Ruby Manahan, Millie Manahan, and Eli Bock, Brother; dear sister of Mark (Donna) Steiner. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by her brothers, Greg (Stephanie) Steiner and Jeff (Patty) Steiner.
For 40 years, Karen served as a registered nurse, demonstrating unwavering compassion and commitment to her patients. Her career in nursing reflected her natural inclination to nurture, and she was deeply respected by colleagues and families alike for her dedication and professionalism.
Upon retiring, Karen continued to show her love and support for her family in her new role as a full-time Uber driver for her grandson, Eli. This creative post-retirement endeavor highlighted her commitment to family, as she enjoyed spending time with him.
Beyond her family duties, Karen had a rich tapestry of interests that brought her joy. She was an avid reader, cultivating a substantial digital library on her Kindle that reflected her passion for literature. She also enjoyed the comforts of home entertainment, often binge-watching her favorite shows on Netflix and engaging with the ever-popular Dave Glover on KMOX, whose insights and humor she valued.
Known for her thoughtful gift-giving, Karen excelled in finding the perfect present for every occasion. Whether shopping at Kohl's or Chico's, her enthusiasm for being a professional shopper was evident to all who knew her. She had a knack for making those around her feel special, which was a true testament to her loving nature.
Karen's legacy is one of care, kindness, and joy. She will be deeply missed by family and friends who were fortunate enough to experience her warmth and generosity. As we remember Karen, we celebrate a life characterized by service, love, and a genuine spirit that touched the hearts of many. She will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
