KAREN A. MARTINDALE, age 47 years, 8 months, and 3 days, of Washington CH, lost her battle with liver disease and was received by the Lord on Thursday, March 26. 2026 while surrounded by her loving husband and family. She was finally at peace.
She was born on July 22, 1978 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Harold and Madelyn (Massie) Peters. Karen attended Miami Trace High School. She was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom for most of her life. Karen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Karen focused on quality of life, raising her family, and she loved the challenge of a new adventure. Some of her favorite things outside of seeing the family, was seeing God's country; whether it was from the windshield of the RV, the trails, the beaches, the mountains, the big city, and even the most remote places. She had a passion for travel, adventure, and was always ready to go and she always loved a good movie. Karen absolutely enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends along with her family and her travel dog, Zeke.
Karen is survived and missed by her husband of twenty-five years, Ricki (J.R.) Martindale, whom she married on August 5, 2000; her children, Jerry Hunt (Christyn Clifton), and Brittany Martindale (Blake); grandchildren, Despon, Jerzi, and Athena; siblings, Stacy Peters, Mike Peters, and Daniel Peters; father and mother-in-law, Rick and Marlene Martindale; sister-in-law, Clarissa Hess; nieces, Aly, Amber, and Haylee; and nephews, Ira, and Marti. Also surviving are several cousins and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be he held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anchor Baptist Church, 456 Jamison Rd SW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor Mike Pison officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Tuesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
