Karen (Kiki) McCool, 62, of Dunmore died Monday at home.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Patricia Jennings McCool. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was most recently employed by COLTS Transportation of Lackawanna County. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore.
Surviving are four sisters Maureen DePietro (Frank), Erin Tomasetti (Ron), Colleen Reese (Pat), and Kathleen Capooci (Matt), three brothers Joseph (Kelly), Brian, and Thomas (Kelly) McCool. She was preceded in death by a sister Patricia Ann Lavelle on Dec. 31, 2022.
In addition to her brothers and sisters, Karen is survived by her nieces and nephews, Daniel and Michael (Alyssa) Lavelle, Alyssa Bonacci (Mike), Frank DePietro, Michael DePietro (Kaity), Jordan and Morgan McCool, Angela and Brian McCool, Ronny Tomasetti (Jess), Corey Tomasetti, Brianna and Patrick Reese, Joe and Kyra McCool, Katie and Mia Capooci, and great-niece and nephew, Gia and Nico Bonacci. Karen adored all of them and they considered her their second Mom.
Karen was the purest and gentlest soul and would give unconditionally without asking for anything in return. She will be deeply missed by her family.
The funeral will be Saturday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.

For my father Jack Gallagher , We are so sorry for your tremendous loss . Dad worked with Karen at SMS . I also had the privilege of knowing Karen through my dad. Always a smile and nice conversation. My Dad was fond of Karen, she was always happy. God bless , our deepest sympathies . The Gallagher family . Dad is sorry he could not make the mass for Karen as he is currently in a rehab facility . He will be 93 in March.
