Karen Joyce Metzler, age 76, of Crossville, TN, passed away on November 16, 2025, at Cumberland Medical Center.
Mrs. Metzler was born on November 16, 1949, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Albert John Reisner, Sr. and Shirley Ellen (Walraven) Pulley. She was born and raised in Ladysmith before moving to Bellevue, Nebraska as a late teen.
Karen worked for Mutual of Omaha for several years. It was there that a co-worker and friend introduced her to Charles Richard Metzler. They married on February 12, 1971, and together they had one son, Robert A. Metzler. Karen and Charles made their home in Bellevue, Nebraska, where they lived for more than 40 years before later moving to California — and eventually to Tennessee — to be closer to their son and his family. After her time with Mutual of Omaha, Karen continued her career working in Registration at Bellevue University, where she eventually retired.
Karen loved spending time in her garden and enjoyed collecting all kinds of knick-knacks and figurines — treasures she proudly displayed throughout her home.
She is survived by her son, Robert Metzler (Nikki), and grandchildren Lucas and Kaitlyn of Crossville, TN; and her brother, Albert Reisner (Charlotte) of Wisconsin.
In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard Metzler.
