Karen A. Miehlke, 59 of Midland, died Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center. She was born September 18, 1966, in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Morris and Marcia (Siler) Thornton. A graduate of Harrison High School. Karen and her husband enjoyed time spent with their children and grandchildren. Her grandbabies were the light of her life, and she made it a point to participate in their life events. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and visited many states on their journeys.
Karen will be forever missed by her husband of 40 years, Michael Miehlke, son Nathan Miehlke, and daughter Kaylyn (Blake) Whitehouse, all of Midland; grandchildren, Bryson, Myles, Layla, and Miah; brother Darrell (Kathi) Thornton of Harrison, and sisters Jean Schlicker of Freeland, Debbie (Jim) Napierala, and Rhonda (John) Hollingshead, all of Harrison. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother Michael Thornton.
Memorial services will take place 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Rev. Dr. Wallace H. Mayton, III will officiate. Karen's family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
