Middlefield, Ohio - God gathered another angel to himself on September 28, 2023 with the passing, of Karen Norling, of Middlefield, Ohio. Born in Midland, Michigan, Karen spent 59 years on this earth, living a life honoring Jesus. Karen is predeceased by her mother, Marcia, and her father, Ronald. and is survived by her devoted husband, of 30 years, James Norling, and her two brothers, Kevin and Kirk and two sisters, Kathy and Kim. Karen survives in the hearts of her nieces and nephews and all those others who came to know Karen for her quick wit and sympathetic ear whenever they needed someone to be there for them.
Karen enjoyed gardening and planted roses around the sides of her house. Her favorite color was violet-pink. She was adopted mother of six miniature schnauzers and let them run around the house. Karen sang in the choirs of two professional operas and the beauty in her voice, particularly coming from such a petite little person, was nothing less than stunning. Karen had a Master's degree in English and was a freelance writer of poetry, as well as both fiction and non-fiction material, some of which was published overseas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests and Karen would want those willing, to say a prayer for someone with a hardship, forgive someone in your life, and do an act of kindness for a stranger.
Services will be held at Hambden Congregational Church, 13840 Gar Highway, Chardon, OH on October 12, 2023 at 11:00am.

Karen will always be in my heart. She and I collaborated on many watercolor portraits when she lived here in Modesto. She just loved her nieces and nephews who were loved like her own children and had me paint a picture of each of them - using lots of purples. She had so many wonderful qualities and was a most special person - and, yes, God certainly added another angel for sure.
My condolences to all who loved her as well.
