Karen Ann Ratigan, May 9, 1943 – November 5, 2025; Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Karen Ratigan, passed away peacefully at home.

Karen was a selfless individual who dedicated her life to her family and community. She always put the needs of others before her own and did whatever it took to provide for those she loved. Whether it was working multiple jobs, volunteering, or simply being there for a listening ear, Karen was the embodiment of love and service. As a devoted mother of five, Karen's days were filled with the hustle and bustle of raising a family. She joked that she was always "on call," whether it was for a haircut, a meal, or a shoulder to cry on. Her family was her world, and she spared no effort in making sure they felt loved, supported, and cared for. One of Karen's most memorable feats was a year when money was especially tight, she was determined to make Christmas special. She made every single present by hand for the entire family. Karen's creations were treasured gifts that brought joy to all who received them. Her dedication and love shone brightly in every stitch. Karen's passions extended beyond her family, too. She cherished time spent with family and friends on the water, camping, gardening and playing pitch. Her love of nature and fun brought joy to all who surrounded her. Karen's legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to those she loved. She will be deeply missed, but her impact will be felt for generations to come.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Martha Mach and her former husband Francis "Frank" Ratigan.

She is survived by her sister Shirley Evans, (Joe), children Brian Ratigan, (Susan), Shawn Ratigan, Patrick Ratigan, (Angela), Colleen Heath, (Glenn) Kelly Perkins, (Caleb), grandchildren Erin Ingram-Ratigan, (Tass), Daniel Ratigan (Sara), Hannah Williamson, (Jacob), Matthew Ratigan, Dyllan Ratigan, (Rachael), Kaitlin Ratigan, Mike Heath, (Meghan), Rebecca Heath, Brady Blankenship, Shea Blankenship, Colvin Blankenship, and great grandchildren Amelia "Millie" & Lydia Ratigan, Atticus, Owen, Cora & Lillie Gassen.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 10th from 5-7pm at Royer Funeral Home in Grain Valley Missouri. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, November 11th at 10am at St John LaLande Catholic Church in Blue Springs Missouri. Burial ceremony follows the funeral at Perdee Cemetery in Grain Valley Missouri.
