Karen Stanford, 62, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
She was born on August 16, 1963 in Louisville, Kentucky to Chester Dennison and Gertrude Reed. She is preceded in death by her father, Chester Dennison. Karen is survived by her loving mother, Gertrude C. Reed, step father, Thomas Reed, brothers, Victor Stanford, Keith Stanford, her auntie, Barbara Boller, her cousins, Vanessa (Rick) Moore, James (Tamara) Luter Jr., Kevin Stanford. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and extended family that will miss her very much.
Karen was a vibrant soul who had a passion for all people. She dedicated her life to health care; she was a long time Certified Nurses Assistant and prior to her illness was enrolled in Nursing School. Karen took pride in the care for her patients, treating them like family. She was compassionate; always finding ways to take in anyone or any animal that needed her. Karen's love was not only seen at work but to her family and anyone else fortunate enough to get to know her. She was a mother and nurturer to everyone. When she was not taking care of patients, you could find her spending time with family and friends; sharing in one of her home cooked meals was one of her favorite things to do with others. To know Karen was to love Karen, and although stern at times, there was never a moment where her love did not shine bright. She will be truly missed by all.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 29th Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
