Karen Renee Temple

Karen Temple, 55, was born on October 7, 1970, in Elizabeth City, NC. She graduated from Athens Drive High School in Raleigh, NC, through the Special Education Program.
Karen loved a variety of things, especially the following: morning coffee (nothing fancy), any Michael Jackson music (especially "Thriller" album), any and everything about Christmas (especially decorating Christmas cookies), "working" in her Day Programs (she endlessly won at Bingo!), always a "fashionista" (like her Grandma Temple) and most importantly the love of her life was Jesus!! Every present she opened was quickly filled with a LOUD "Thank You Jesus"!! Her smile was uplifting, and her laughter was contagious!
Karen is survived by her parents, Johnnie and Michele Temple, as well as her siblings and their spouses, sister, Melissa Emory, brother, Ryan Emory and wife, Kari Emory, sister, Amy Holderby and husband, Sean Holderby, and four nieces, Devin Whitaker, Grayson Emory, Makayla Holderby, and Eva Emory.

A Gathering for family and friends to share stories and memories of Karen will be held at Twiford Funeral Home, Elizabeth City, NC, on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
