Karen Girouard Travasos passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, November 10, 2025. She was born June 22, 1944 in Lecompte, La to the late Elmo Girouard & Maxine Williams Girouard.
Karen graduated from Youngsville High School in 1962 and for many years served as Deputy Clerk for the United States Bankruptcy Court and before retirement in her 50’s, she attended LSU to receive her bachelor’s degree.
Karen is survived by her loving daughters Denise Travasos Murchie (Micah), Charmaine Travasos Cole (Tommy), she had 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother John Girouard, numerous nieces & nephews. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 47, the late Hillary James Travasos, parents Elmo & Maxine Williams Girouard, brothers Kenneth Girouard, Ronald Girouard and sister Debra Girouard Ewing.
