Karen Louise Carmody Williams

Karen Louise Carmody Williams was born September 17, 1945 to Navy Air Wing Commander Edmund O. Carmody and Clara Marie Springer in Seattle, Washington. She was raised primarily in a suburb of Buffalo, New York where she attended Kenmore East Senior High School. During high school Karen excelled in sports as a leader and record holder on the women's swimming team. Following high school, she entered Franconia College, Franconia, New Hampshire and subsequently attended the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNYAB). After college she flew for American Airlines as a flight attendant where she was meritoriously recognized for her actions during an aircraft emergency. She met and married Chicago attorney Richard L. Williams III on November 11, 1967. Karen who was talented at art and decorating and founded a design and construction firm, Karen C. Williams Incorporated, specializing in upscale interior marine and residential design. During her life she loved dogs and advocated for their humane treatment.

Karen passed away at The Pearl of Evanston nursing home on November 26th after an extended period of illness. She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Williams III and her brother Timothy Carmody (Joann Piccolo) of McLean, Virginia and Naples, Florida. Services will be held at Rosehill Cemetery Mausoleum , 5800 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60660 Henning Chapel on December 5, 2025 Memorial Gathering 10:30 am until service 11:00 am
