Karin D. Madary, 64, of
Royersford, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025, after a courageous 25-month battle with Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. Born on January 14, 1961, in Wilmington, Delaware, she was the daughter of Patricia C. (O'Brien) and the late Carl Dehnert. Karin lived a life full of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear.
A proud graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Marketing, Karin carried her Nittany Lion spirit throughout her life, cheering passionately for Penn State football every season. After college, she married and moved to Brevard County, Florida where she spent 20 years forging deep, lasting friendships that remained a cornerstone of her life. In 2003, she returned to her roots to her hometown of Royersford, where she continued to build a life rich with connection and purpose.
For 20 years, Karin worked at the Montgomery County housing authority, where her efficiency and compassion for her work shone brightly. She rose through the ranks to eventually become a supervisor, all while earning respect for her professionalism, attention to detail, and her caring heart. She was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. Karin's kindness touched everyone she met, leaving a legacy of warmth and generosity.
Karin found joy in life's simple pleasures. An avid cyclist, she loved exploring the outdoors, tending to her garden, and creating beauty through flower arranging and interior decorating-a talent at which she truly excelled. Her home reflected her creativity and care. Passionate about politics, Karin was known for her lively, knowledgeable discussions, always engaging others with respect and enthusiasm.
Above all, Karin's greatest passion was her two daughters, Paige and Hannah. As a devoted single mother, she poured her heart and soul into raising them, sacrificing tirelessly to ensure they had every opportunity to thrive. Paige and Hannah, both accomplished with advanced nursing degrees, credit their success to their mother's boundless love, strength, and guidance. To them, she was simply the best mother anyone could ask for.
Diagnosed with glioblastoma in March 2023, Karin faced her illness with extraordinary bravery. Through multiple rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, brain surgeries, and clinical trials, she defied the odds, living with grace and determination for 25 months. Her resilience inspired all who knew her.
Karin was predeceased by her father, Carl G. Dehnert. She leaves behind her beloved mother, Patricia Dehnert; her cherished daughters, Paige (Ryan) and Hannah (James); her siblings, Patti Hankins (Jeff), Lisa Grzywacz (Ron), and Mark Dehnert (Mary); as well as six nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and nephews, and countless friends whose lives she touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Friday, April 18, 2025. Receiving hours will begin at 9:30 AM until 11 AM, followed by her memorial service officiated by Rev. David Kubczak at Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford. A luncheon and celebration of Karin's life will take place immediately after at The Copperfield Inn at Lakeside in Limerick, PA. All are warmly welcome and encouraged to attend, to share memories and honor Karin's beautiful spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Gray for Glioblastoma (https://grayforglioblastioma.com/donate) or Stache Strong (https://stachestrong.org/donate) in Karin's Honor, supporting the fight against the disease she faced so bravely.
Karin's light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her-a mother, sister, daughter, and friend whose kindness and spirit will never be forgotten.
