Karina Isis Michelle Jones, 23, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on February 16th, 2025. Karina was a bright and curious soul who had a free spirit that inspired many.
Karina was a tattoo artist at Luna Beauty Collective, where she had a private suite and worked hard with grace and talent. Many of her friends and family members have some of her artwork on them or in their homes. She enjoyed creating, whether it was through artwork, tattooing, or movement in a yoga studio. Karina loved experiencing new things and enjoying the nature around her. She had a true green thumb, surrounded by plants she collected and propagated. She liked to spend her free-time at the beach, playing with her beloved dog, Rajah, or cuddled up listening to music with her sweet cats, Maka and Luci.
Karina is survived by her loving parents, Kevin and Lisa Monroe, Paige and Jason Philbeck; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Elise and Jake Pierce; her sister and four brothers, Arabella, Blue, Gabe, Ashley, and Staley Philbeck; her maternal grandmother, Sandra Reynolds.
A receiving of friends will be held on Saturday, February 22nd, from 12:00-1:00pm at City Church at 3100 City Church St., Gastonia, NC 28056, followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm officiated by Pastor Dickie Spargo.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Karina’s memory to Thrive Recovery Center (https://thrivegaston.com/) or greenery that can live on with Karina’s legacy.
Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC (704) 864-5144 is serving the family.
