Karl "Jake" Jacobson

1950 - 2025

Karl "Jake" Jacobson passed away peacefully at home on November 30th. Jake lived a full life, marked by dedication to his career, and love for his family, pets, and hobbies. Jake was born in 1950 in Frederick, Maryland to Gladys and Nathan Jacobson. In his youth he developed a passion for music, learning to play the bass guitar and playing in various bands in Frederick and the surrounding areas for much of his life. Jake's professional journey began when he graduated from Lincoln Technical Institute and became an Automotive Technician. He started the business and served as the chief mechanic for Jake's Auto Clinic in Ijamsville, MD for 40 yrs, retiring in 2008. Outside of his professional life, Jake was always deeply engaged with his hobbies. Jake loved drag racing and spent many weekends at 75 & 80 Dragway and Mason Dixon Dragway, and even more time working on his and others' race cars. He continued playing and repairing bass guitars and was always eager to learn something new, even taking lessons over Zoom during his retirement. In his younger years, Jake also loved bowling at Terrace Lanes. Jake was very much an animal lover, with many pet dogs and cats who were special to him throughout his life. Jake is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Suzanne Jacobson, and his beloved children Kaitlin, Nathan, and Hannah and his grandchildren Zahava and Nile. Jake took great joy in being a "Grand-dude" to Zahava and Nile and creating moments & memories that he hoped will resonate throughout their lives.
