Karl David Konopka

Karl was one of my closest friends in 11th and 12th grade. We spent a lot of time hanging out watching Schwarzenegger and Van Damme movies, and talking about going into the Army, which we both ended up doing. Later in the 1990s, I visited him in Atlanta when he was working as a corrections officer there. I have a lot of little stories about Karl that the limited space here does not allow. We lost touch over the past 25 years, but I can tell you that when I knew him, he was funny and a good guy to be around.
