Karla M. Nickel Raymond
In Loving Memory, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother also known as “Sparky” and “Gram”, passed peacefully into eternity on August 13, 2025 at the age of 70. She was born on July 4, 1955 to the late Edward & Ann Nickel. Though our hearts are heavy, we are endlessly grateful for the time we had with her and for the warmth, laughter, and endless love she has left with all of us. Karla was a devoted Christian instilling those qualities daily in her children and family. She cherished the Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ, finding solace in the Lord’s watchful presence.
Throughout her life, Karla shared her heart not only with her family and friends, but also with those she worked with. She spent many years, 40 years working for Georgia Boot as a Sales Administration Manager, where she was more than an employee- she was considered part of the family. She loved the Georgia Boot family deeply and held them close to her heart.
Karla had a passion for gardening and love of shopping. She took the ordinary and made it extraordinary. She was an avid reader, sharing her love of books with her daughter. She enjoyed cooking and baking with her granddaughter. Her deep love of cooking resulted in a tradition of Sunday dinners with her beloved family where endless memories were made. She was innovated and even created her own card game, known as “Karla’s Cards” which would be played with her husband and best friends for 45 years. She found so much joy in serving others. She lived a life full of grace, dignity, respect, and endless love. She is our family’s greatest life’s blessing.
Karla is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Doug Raymond; son, Scott (Danielle) Raymond; daughter, Rebecca Raymond; granddaughter, Harper Raymond; sisters, Kate (Bracken) Burns, Karolyn (Don) Dazen, and Kim Nickel; brother in-law, Eric (Joyce) Raymond; sister in-law Deborah (David) Cutich; nieces and nephews, Bracken, Colleen, Chris, Alyson, Erica, and David. A Celebration of Life service will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, September 13, 2025 with visitation two hours prior to the service at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home. Jim Taylor will officiate.
