I was a friend of Karyn's in high school and have-not seen her in years, but I have such a vivid memory of the friendliest girl with the biggest smile. Words cannot express your tragic loss. Karyn was a loving and caring person. My heart aches as I think of her boys, Josh and Jake, having 2 grown kids of my own. It has been a long time, but my best memories are from Chesterfield. We all grew up together, playing foosball tournaments at the pool, playing in the park even after the sun set for the day. The Kamen family has been a big part of our Deerfield community. My son goes to school with Josh. Since Kindergarten (12 years), every time we've seen the family, they seemed so happy. It's VERY difficult to grasp this tragedy. My prayer is that Josh and Jake can still fulfill their dreams in life and that ALL of us can step up as a community to make sure these boys get the same opportunities that our kids do!
