Kashif,

Rest in Peace my brother. "Never Forgotten" I met Kashif while attending the Civil Affairs Qualification Course. Kashif and I, were in the same team throughout the entire course (qualification/selection, course and language). We were assigned to the same Civil Affairs unit until he was transferred to the 96th Civil Affairs Battalion months later. We also lived in the same neighborhood.

To his family especially his wife (Christina) and kids (Humayu, Mikhail and Victoria), know that Kashif was an outstanding human being and friend. He was the type of person who would take the shirt of his back if you needed it. He was funny, caring and would brighten up the day for anyone. Kashif loved you guys dearly and his loved for you guys was extremely visible as he lit up every time we talked about you. I remember our last conversation in Afghanistan was that he and Christina were expecting another baby (Victoria) and how happy he was. The image of his happiness that day, has not and never will leave my mind. Know that your husband and father was loved by many people. Know that although time has pass, you are not the only ones still feeling the lost of such a great human being. Kashif, risked his life to give you and all Americans a better way of life. He was extremely patriotic and a great example to emulate.

To Christina, it still hurts to know Kashif is no longer physically with us. Thank you for all the friendship and hospitality you provided when I visited your home.

To Kashif, the Angels are and have always been with you brother. I know you are looking down on us especially your family. I missed you brother and want to once again thank you for the wonderful friendship, but most important allowing me to be part of your life. Thank you also for the privileged of being the person to give you your last promotion.

I have seen the photos of Kashif Memon with his beautiful children and wife. It's obvious just looking at his face,how much he loved them. He paid the ultimate sacrifice. He was too young to die but we will remember him, even people like me who were not lucky enough to meet him. I pray for his soul and I pray to God to give his family the strength to go through this.

I was reading an article about the sad death of Jeb Price and saw that Kashif Memon was killed in the same tour. As a fellow Muslim, I wanted to give my condolences to his family. Kashif was very brave to go to Afghhanistan and try and help fight against tyranny. May Allah rest his soul in peace.

I was in 4/1cav with SGT. Memon in command group. He was Col. Battaglia's driver, I was CSM. Rodriguez's driver. During this time we worked closely together, and got to know each other very well. He was by far, one of the best NCO's I had in my military career. Im leaving this message mainly for his kids, which I hope they find later in life so they'll know what an outstanding person their dad was. I knew he was lay his life down for me, and I would have done the same. He made the ultimate sacrifice, and I am so greatful for his courage!

SSG Memon, Rest in Peace at Fiddler's Green, Kash. I remember me you telling me about your amazing journey one night hanging out with Chief Johnny D. at Tallil, Iraq. We shared some pogie bait from time to time in our days with the 4/1 Cav. You were a great soldier and traveled around the world to be a patriotic American and an example to everyone.

I met Kashif in 2005. I knew him as Cpl Memon, USMC. He and I were on the same little, dusty outpost in Afghanistan. I was an Army Civil Affairs Team Sergeant conducting Civil Military Operations in conjunction with Kashif's rifle company. He was very professional, courteous and serious about being a Marine. I also remembered his native knowledge of Urdu was always most helpful when dealing with the locals. I mourn his loss and pray for his family. Thank you for your service brother and may God grant you and your family peace. You will not be forgotten.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Kashif will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you .

I Salute You.
