Kate "Katie" Lackey

Funeral service for Kate "Katie" Oldham Lackey, age 52, of Fayetteville, TN, will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Todd Gaskill officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday at Higgins.

Katie was born on October 23, 1973, in Carthage, TN, to the late Harold Glenn and Celia Lancaster Oldham. She was a 1991 graduate of Lincoln County High School and went on to earn her master's degree in education from Middle Tennessee State University. Katie dedicated several years to teaching middle school before retiring, and in recent years, she found joy working at The Flower House.

Katie never met a stranger. She loved to talk and could brighten any room with her laughter and quick wit-often the last to leave any gathering because she was deep in conversation. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an energy that naturally drew people to her. Above all, Katie adored her children and was their biggest fan, especially when cheering them on at their sporting events. She was strong-willed, resilient, and fiercely loyal, yet also giving, compassionate, and tenderhearted.

She is survived by her husband, Tim Lackey; children, Josh Hill, Rachel (Eli) Flynn, Gus Hill, and James Hill; sisters, Liz (Keith) Hammons, Maggie (TJ) Byrne, and Emily Oldham; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
