Katelyn Renee Haynes of Barling, Arkansas, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025, at her home. She was born on September 10, 1991, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Herman Michael Haynes and Gina Renee (Speer) Haynes. She was 34 years old. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bob Speer, and an uncle, Wally Haynes.

Katelyn was an Enhanced Service Specialist for the Alera Group. She was a 2009 graduate of Charleston High School, a 2014 graduate of the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, and a member of Charleston First Baptist Church. Among her proudest accomplishments was being a member of the Charleston girls' basketball team that won the school's first-ever state championship in 2009. She was deeply loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 14th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Charleston, with Bro. Artie Hudson, Jr., Bro. Damon Mckenzie, and Bro. Bill VanMeter officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.

She is survived by her parents, Mike and Gina Haynes of Charleston; a sister, Britney Godwin and husband Ryan of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a brother, Brandon Haynes and wife Angel of Fort Smith; her grandparents, Reed and Barbara Haynes and Elouise Speer, all of Charleston; two aunts, Tara Speer and Angie Haynes; an uncle, Kevin Speer; four nieces, Tilly, Minnie, Rhue, and Jayce; two nephews, Garrett and Ramzee; and other extended family members.

Pallbearers are Justice Hobbs, Brandon Haynes, Garrett Haynes, Robert Haynes, Ryan Godwin, Marshall Speer, Terrance Triplett, and Colt Buckner.

Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Speer, Jason Rucker, and John Whitman.
