Kateri Kodi (Tiller) Taylor, age 40, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025.
Born, July 26, 1985, she was the daughter of Paul Tiller Sr. and Paula (Herter) Tiller.
Kateri attended Holy Cross Academy in Verona, NY. After her graduation in 2003, she went on to study Theology and Religious Education at Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH.
She was employed by Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Potomac, MD from 2007-2017 as Director of Religious Education before extending her studies to become a Vet Tech. She has enjoyed these past eight years working at CARE Veterinary Center in Frederick, MD, where she was surrounded by a wonderful network of friends, both furry and human alike.
All who knew Kateri, whether they knew her as Kateri or Kodi, knew she had a heart larger than life. Her contagious laughter, as an overflowing waterfall, poured down around all whom she loved, lifting even the most weary of souls. The brightest light and darkest darkness waged a terrible and fierce war in her soul throughout her brief life on earth. We place all our trust in our benevolent Lord’s inexhaustible mercy and love and give her back to Him. May He hold her close to His Sacred Heart forever and ever.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by nine siblings, Danielle Tiller, Natalie (Anthony) Calis, Elizabeth (Riko) Ricks, Bernadette (Brian) Tiller, Theresa (Benjamin) Yellott, Paul (Rebekah) Tiller, Jr., Edmund (Miriam) Tiller, Joesphine Seraphina, and Philomena Tiller; grandmother, Rita (Vanderhoof) Herter; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, two cats and Gilbert, her beloved canine.
Kateri is preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, Albert Herter; a paternal grandmother, Karlene (Haslauer) Hoffman; a paternal grandfather, Peter G. Tiller; and a niece, Addison Grace Garmon.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, MD 21750.
