Kim K. Bratland
August 11, 1947 - July 15, 2024
Born in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Ruth and Malcom Walsh, Katherine Kim Bratland, known as Kim, lived a life marked by love, dedication, and service. She was a beloved sister to Tom and the late Richard Walsh. Throughout her childhood, Kim moved frequently, which instilled in her a deep commitment to education. This dedication led her to become a registered nurse, a profession she embraced wholeheartedly. Kim spent her adult life in Excelsior, Minnesota, before spending her final years in North Branch, Minnesota. She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Angela, who blessed her with eight grandchildren: Zachary, Alison, Mackenzie, Ari, Maxwell, Chloe, Georgia, and Arayah, and two great-grandchildren: Cristiano and Cyrus. Kim cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, finding immense joy in showering her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews with love. Her personal interests included reading, gardening, and bird watching. Kim shared a passion for sewing with her daughter, Angela, and enjoyed spending time with friends, often going out to lunch or sitting outside for a chat. Kim leaves behind her daughter, Angela, her brother, Tom, sister-in-law, Rosie, her grandchildren, Zachary, Alison, Mackenzie, Ari, Maxwell, Chloe, Georgia, and Arayah, and her great-grandchildren, Cristiano and Cyrus. She also leaves behind her niece, Morgan, nephew, Kyle, great-niece, Neligh, and great-nephew, Bash. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Ruth and Malcom Walsh, and her beloved brother, Richard Walsh. Kim will be remembered as a mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and best friend to all, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 22, at 11am with visitation one hour prior at: www.Washburn-McReavy.com
