Katherine Miller Marlow Gallion, 86, of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Mission Hospital McDowell.
Katherine was born in McDowell County on February 5, 1939, to the late Mary Pearl White Marlow and Isaac Elijah Marlow, Jr. She was one of seven children: Garnell Broadwell, Howard Marlow, Fay Marlow, Jack Marlow, Barbara Dennie, and William Marlow, all preceded her in death, including her oldest son, Randy A. Gallion, 63.
Katherine enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers. She loved arts and crafts. Katherine was an enthusiastic fan of bluegrass music and supported her late son's band, Ages Past over the years they played together. Another passion was researching her and her husband's family's ancestry and collecting old pictures and family photos.
Katherine was a wonderful human being, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, neighbor, and a child of God.
She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, just short of March 5, 2025, Roger A. Gallion; one son, Doug Gallion (Tony); daughter-in-law, Kelly Gedroic Gallion; a special niece who assisted Katherine as a caregiver, Denise Rumfelt Gibson, and five grandchildren, Jeremy Bradford, Jamie Frisbee, Kayla Gallion, Ryan Gallion, and Nicole Gallion.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be at McDowell Memorial Park.
Please send flowers to Beam Funeral Service in memory of Katherine M. Gallion or memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Katherine, to the McDowell County Animal Shelter.
