Katherine Lucille Harris

Katherine L. Harris, 79, of Salina, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025. She was born March 10, 1946, in Salina, to Harlan Hugh and Sarah Lucille (McDaniels) Holmes. She attended Salina Central High School and graduated in 1964. She worked for many years as a waitress at Sand's Restaurant and later worked at Russell Stover's until her retirement. Kate loved Elvis and listening to his music.

Survivors include her children, Wendy Sotello, and Stacey Harris; grandchildren, Matthew McWhorter, Tim McWhorter, and Chris McWhorter, all of Salina; great-granddaughter, Jesseka McWhorter, of Hillsboro; and one brother, Max Holmes (Susan), of Salina.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Harris; parents, Harlan and Sarah Holmes; sisters, Mary Rein and Helen Bells.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 East Crawford Street, Salina, Kansas 67401.

Graveside will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, at Roselawn Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Heier Scott Mortuary and Cremations.
