Katherine Johnson of Middletown, N.Y. a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on October 25, 2025 at her home with her family by her side. She was 103.
The daughter of the late Frank and Nunziata Lombardo, she was born on July 24, 1922.
Katherine was a longtime employee in the housekeeping department at Horton Hospital in Middletown, N.Y.
She was the widow of James Johnson.
Katherine loved her lottery tickets and trips to the casinos. She was proud to have lived over 103 years.
Survivors include her grandson Floyd Elston and his companion Cindy Arnott and her great-grandchildren Mandy Dyer, Katy Littlefield and Jordon Elston and her great grandson Staff Sgt. U.S. Army Andrew Johnston and her great-great grandchildren. Her nieces that she recognized as daughters Rosemary Hulseapple, Kathy Clark and her husband Patrick Clark. Her dear friends Charlene Gilmore and Sam Painter.
She was predeceased by her husband James, her son James Johnson and her daughter Betty Lou Elston and son-in-law Floyd Elston, Jr. and her sister and best friend Marie Mitteer (Butch) and her granddaughter Cathleen Elston and longtime companion Harold Lazier and her nephew-in-law Daniel Hulseapple.
Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday November 5, 2025 from 11 AM -1 PM with a Funeral Mass at 1 P.M. all at the Holy Name Church 45 Highland Ave. Otisville, N.Y.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Plains Cemetery Otisville, N.Y.
