Katherine Mayanne Lentz, 96, of Grayville, Illinois passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at home with her family close by. She was born on Sunday, July 28, 1929, in Stockton, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur Willis and Dorris (Gartrell) Allen. On January 24, 1947, she married Harold Wayne Lentz in Phillipsburg, Kansas and together they shared over 59 years of marriage before his passing on June 10, 2006.
Mayanne was retired having first worked at the Mercury Independent and then moved in 1968 to work as a teller at The Peoples National/ Integra Bank where she spent over 30 years serving many customers. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church of Grayville where she served on the Women’s Council for many years. Mayanne was also active in local clubs and organizations throughout the years, including Grayville Evening Women’s Club, Camp Rebekah Lodge where she was a member for over fifty years and the Birthday Club, which she especially enjoyed.
Mayanne was a talented Quilter and made many beautiful quilts for all the members of her family. She also enjoyed, traveling, Bowling and spending time with family and friends. Mayanne was an avid card game player and especially enjoyed “Mexican Train” and liked to join others in game and card playing at Grayville Senior Citizen Center’s game day.
Survivors include, three sons and their wives, Allen and Laureen Lentz of Las Vegas, NV, Tom and Linda Lentz of Minden, LA and Wayne and Chris Lentz of Ohiopyle, PA; one daughter and her husband, Linda and Stephen Morgan of Grayville, IL; five grandchildren, Brian Lentz, Katrina Lentz, Allen Lentz Jr., Laura Lentz and David Lentz; four great-grandchildren, Leia Lentz, Kalani Lentz, Malia Lentz and A.J. Mendoza and a dear cousin Lucille Burton.
Along with her parents and husband Mayanne was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Allen, granddaughter, Tricia Rene Lentz and great-great-grandson, Joseph Gonzales Jr.
Funeral Services will where held 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, in the chapel of Roberts and Cook Funeral Service, 221 North 1st Street, Grayville, IL.
Graveside Services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Stockton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mayanne’s memory may be made to First Christian Church of Grayville and will be accepted by Roberts and Cook Funeral Service who has been entrusted with the arrangements.
