Born Katherine Artus in Orange Grove, Texas to Rev. August and Martha Artus, she was the youngest of seven children. She was preceded in death by her brothers, August, Paul, Werner, and Walter; and her sisters, Maria and Martha. Katherine grew up in Poth Texas and graduated from Poth High School. She married Trevelyn B.Taylor in September 1952 and was a nurse, wife, and mother of two sons, Robert of San Antonio, Texas, and Donald of Wichita, Kansas. Trevelyn preceded her in death on April 19, 1992. She is survived by her two sons and Don's wife Margie. Katherine had a passion for writing poetry and song, for Church, and for Family, and enjoyed gardening, travel, and her pet cats. She was a long time member of Rolling Oaks Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday October 19 at the Church with burial to follow at Mission Park South, San Antonio, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations to Rolling Oaks Baptist Church, 6401 Wenzel Rd. San Antonio, Texas, 78233 are appreciated.

Mrs. Taylor was one of my favorite customers. Every time she brought her Honda in for service she was a ray of sunshine always had a smile on her face and always found a way to make me smile. She will be missed around here.
