Katherine L. "Kitty" Wright

Katherine L. "Kitty" Wright, 99 years young, our precious mom went peacefully into the arms of her Savior and Lord in her sleep on Monday, March 18, 2024. Fiercely independent, inspiring, a friend to all, quiet sense of humor, a delightful loving person – all descriptions of how everyone knew her.
Kitty is predeceased by her husband J. Nelson Wright of 53 years, her parents Mabel A. and Andie H. Wing. Also predeceased by granddaughter Sheila K. Clark, and granddaughter Heatherlynn Louise Daniel. Survived by three daughters Sherryl A. Durkin of Dunmore PA, Barbara J. Jones, of Conklin, NY, and Jamie (& Rod) Whitney of West Seneca, NY. Kitty was blessed to have six surviving grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Kitty's career was largely taking care of her family, and often her grandchildren. She loved summer weekends at their cottage on the St. Lawrence River near Alexandria Bay. She worked as a part-time church secretary and treasurer at Little White Church in Conklin, NY. Mom always loved our friends as added family members. And she worked side by side with Dad in new home construction often puttying nail holes.
The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 4-7pm. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10am. Burial will be in the Conklin Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
