Bye Kate. I shall truly miss you. You gave us so much love. You taught me that if you love something to surround yourself with it. You loved reading and surrounded yourself with books. You loved pets and were magic when encircled by them. You loved people and filled relationships with your energy. You did not love clocks -- what does a schedule or a deadline have to do with friendships anyway! Your friendship brought back a childhood song: Love is something if you give it away you end up having more. Bye bye smart kid.

Hey, Kate...

I only knew you for two months. But that's all right, because it felt like longer.

I really liked your monologue for acting class. Honestly, for a fifteen year old, you did a wonderful job of presenting it. A lot better than some of the twenty-something year old veterans in that class. I wish I could have told you, but I really hope you saw my nods of approval while you recited it in front of everyone.

I really wish I had spent more time tuning your guitar so I could teach you that song.

I had a lot of fun hanging out and drawing random pictures for you and even babysitting you at work. Sorry I didn't let you hang out more, but it was busy.

I wish you could read this. I miss you.

I am very sad to hear about Kate passing away. She was my student and when she went to high school she came back to visit me in middle school and we had some great conversations. I will miss her dearly.

Katheryn,
You have found the love of God by now, you are with Him for eternity. Bask in the light of His love, watch over and protect those loved ones that remain behind. We will miss you, our world is a little dim now, but Heaven is brighter because of you!

There was always something special about Kate. Kate lived in her own world of love.Kate had a love for reading and it prove itself in her incredible number of books she read. As a teacher of HMS I could see her one day writing her own novels. Kate had a special gift and seemed to love life in a special way. I will miss her.

Kate was a student of mine at Harden Middle School in 2006-7. She was highly intelligent and very funny. I was very saddened to hear of her passing. I wish she had known that childhood and its trials are not endless, and that if she could have hung on a bit longer she would have found an end to her pain and been a successful and happy adult.

Prayer for Katheryn
May our Heavenly Father who first breathed life into you and gave you a share of his creation show you His divine mercy and comfort your restless Heart. For God so loved you from the beginning that He sent you a friend and brother, His son Jesus, to guide you and light your way in life's journey and to set you free so you didn't need to die. And you were given a set of parents to help light the way in your journey and to provide further guidance to help you along the way. You were given family and friends who cared about you and some who never got to know you but always had you in their hearts. Life is filled with struggle as you brother Jesus knew and each of us must come to terms with every cross that we bear. Your absence now is marked with sadness but only God can know your heart and what it has revealed. So may you rest in peace my dear until the time will come when those of us all left behind will join you once again.
Our love and prayers for God's
mercy and comfort to your mom and dad. Love, grandma Aileene

Johanne, John and family: I knew Katheryn through Santa Rita school dist. Katheryn was a sweet and quiet young girl when I first met her. Katheryn was smart and quirky and was very much her own person and at such a young age that is rare because kids just want to be like everyone else . Katheryn had a big heart and will be missed by many. May her wonderful memories be a comfort to you and yours at this very difficult time. My heart and prayers are with you and your family, May she rest in peace.

Hey Kat, I know u won't read this, I know your family will.I'll miss u calling me late at night singing to me on the phone about what ever it was you were feeling those days. I know I wasn't there for you towards the end I wish that you had called me and I would have drove to where ever you were to get you. I'm sorry that i didn't answer your last message I was going through a rough patch...Now I stop to think that even though you weren't my little sister by blood you were my little sister by spirit Like you would always tell me "God led me to you and you to me." Every time the phone rings I wish it were you now instead of a telemarketer. I have the choker and head band you left at my house that one time we hung out, which was our last. I'll miss how you were always asking questions about everything and how every time I would say I don't know you would answer "yes you do, you just think that you don't. Though you do"I can go on and on but I need to leave room for everyone else too you know...I can feel that you are in a better place now and you art just resting for awhile I'll see you soon sis I just wish I could hold you and have you jump on me like you used to when I would walk in the house. You've taught me so much and I know you learned from me. Like you would say when we hung up the phone I LOVE YOU FOREVER AND ALWAYS!!4eva & Always baby girl. There's no way I could forget you.

Katheryn was my cousin, and as a child we fought and had arguements. I wish I could go back and make up for that, and I wish I was closer to her than I really was. We had food fights at Thanksgiving dinners, and had other conflicts about stupid things that don't matter. I gave her and her brothers all my hot wheels cars and that was the last I saw of her.

I wish I could have been a better cousin and a better friend.
She's very much loved and missed.

Katheryn loved and as I believe lived her life unconditionaly, and I believe all she wanted was the same in return. Her spirit was a free spirit that could not be tamed and she loved life as it was one day at a time one adventure at a time. She saw the best in everyone and everything, she was so eager for more.We should all take example of unconditioal love as Katheryne gave as an example of how simple and precious love and life can be... With Love Aunt Karen
