Kathleen Patricia Barton

Kathleen Barton, 90, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, January 22, 2026 at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.

Kathleen Patricia Fischer was born April 15, 1935 to August and Verna (Rintoul) Fischer in Leonard, North Dakota.

On August 4, 1956 she married John Barton at St. Mary's Cathedral in Fargo.

Kathleen was a homemaker and super mom. She was very proud of her home and being a mom.

She was a member and volunteer at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church for over 40 years. Kathy's family and faith were very important to her. She led the Great Books Program at OLV for many years, and enjoyed playing one-bounce volleyball with the others from OLV. Kathy worked in the library and put the whole card catalog on the computer when technology was implemented. She spent many years on the board for the Fergus Falls Music Boosters.

Kathy loved to knit, sew, bake, and garden. She shared these loves with her daughters and grandchildren. She also loved supporting her family, attending countless softball, basketball, and hockey games and many, many concerts.

Preceding her in death were her husband, John; her parents, and her siblings.

Kathy is survived by her daughters, Kim (Dave) Graff of Underwood, Tracy (Kelly) Mesker of Powers Lake, ND, Sandy (David) Baldwin of Lake Shore, MN, Mary Fredrickson of Fergus Falls, Tami (Greg) Worner of Nevis, and Patti (Scott) Opsahl of Lakeville; grandchildren, Adam Mesker, Dakota and Peyton of Powers Lake, ND, Andrew (Ashley) Mesker, Cooper and Whittley of Tioga, ND, Christopher (Ashley) Baldwin, Madeline and Eva of St. Cloud, Robert (Jill) Baldwin, Doris of Salt Lake City, UT, Maggie (Kip) Krueger, Austin, David, and Owen of Minnetonka, Meaghan (Jake) Dodds, Rhett and Reid of Parkers Prairie, Timothy (Connie) Fredrickson, Chris of Haver, MT, Katie (Devon) Roerick, Brooke and Deacon of Moorhead, Kacey Fredrickson of Fergus Falls, and their father, Monte (Renee) Fredrickson, Jon, Jack, and Cate Worner of Nevis, Jamie and Jarod Opsahl of Lakeville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume one-hour prior to the service at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls.

Interment: St. Otto's Catholic Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
