Kathleen Ann Brower of Port Jervis, NY died Tuesday, January 9, 2024. She was 67.
Kathy was born on December 10, 1956, in Brooklyn, NY to the late Peter L. Cusack and the late Catherine Cusack.
Growing up, Kathy enjoyed all sports especially basketball, skating, ping pong, and cheering on the NY Mets. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and took pride in owning her own hot dog cart outside Queens Courthouse. Ever looking for a bargain, Kathy could frequently be found at flea markets, garage sales and thrift stores looking for that perfect gift to share with her family.
After marrying her beloved husband Alan Brower, Kathy left Queens, NY and spent the next 24 years with him in Caldwell, NJ and Belchertown, MA. She was a loving wife and mother. She had a very outgoing personality and loved to be around other people. She was a hard worker and spent years waitressing and later, during her time as a home health aide, was a favorite among clients. Always one to embrace life and community, you could catch Kathy watching Law and Order, basking near the water, or simply chatting with people asking questions. Appreciative of the simpler things in life, Kathleen truly embodied what it means to be human and was one of kindest people you could know.
Surviving are:
Her beloved children, Bryan Brower and Melodie Neilan and her husband Jared; Her loving siblings, Vincent Cusack, Nancy Ribando and her husband Anthony, and Kevin Cusack and his wife Devi; Her grandchildren, Elliot and Owen Neilan; Her very close friend, Rosie Burns and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, John and Peter Cusack.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, INC. 100 East Main Street Port Jervis on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 12:00pm – 4:00pm.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 10:00am at the funeral home.
