Medina: Kathleen Cadieux, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2025 at United Memorial Medical Center.
She was born December 26, 1947 in Palmer, MA, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Polzwartek) Kusha. Kathy graduated from Palmer High School, Class of 1965, and soon after married the love of her life, Richard Cadieux in 1966. In 1984, Kathy and Richard moved their family to Western New York, where she eventually resided in Medina. Kathy worked as a custodian for Oakfield-Alabama Central School District for several years.
Kathy was dedicated to being the primary caregiver to her husband for many years. Having a caring soul, she was an animal lover and had a passion helping special needs and elderly dogs. Kathy enjoyed knitting clothing items for her kids throughout their childhood. She was known to always keep her house immaculately clean and found joy in having a tidy home.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2024; and several siblings.
Kathy is survived by her children, Rochelle Gonzalez of Batavia, Richard (Lisa) Cadieux Jr. of FL, Joel (Alicia) Cadieux of FL, Kristy (Glen) Hayes of IN; 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several siblings, and her beloved Yorkie, Oscar.
There will be no calling hours and a private service and interment will be held in Saint Albans City, Vermont at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winslow Indiana Cat Shelter, payable to Kristy Hayes, P.O. Box 104, Winslow, IN, 47598.
Kathy’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home of Albion.
