Kathleen Louise Connell

Kathleen Louise Connell, age 64, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 7, 1946, in Red Bank, NJ, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Ruth Reynolds Connell. During her children's formative years, Ms. Connell was a homemaker. She then became a medical assistant for over 30 years, most recently working for Meridian Primary Care, Elkton, MD. She loved her cats, Buster and Woman, and enjoyed painting, reading and traveling to the beach. Survivors include her children, Jessica K. Martin and companion, Eric Garcia, both of Elkton, MD, and David R. Martin and companion, Samantha Phillips, both of Chesapeake City, MD; granddaughters, Bryanna, Ellie and Alexis Bolton, all of Earleville, MD; siblings, Sharon King and husband, Frank, South Carolina, Richard "Rascal" Connell and wife, Edith, Earleville, MD, and William Connell and wife, Elizabeth, Kennedyville, MD; best friend and special caregiver, Barbara McAllister, Elkton, MD; and sister-in-law, Norma Stanley, Earleville, MD. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2011, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Rd., Newark, DE 19713.
