Kathleen "Kathy" Elizabeth Dubey (née Kovolyak) passed away on November 5, 2025, at the age of 86, due to surgical complications. Kathy was beloved by her entire family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Kovolyak; stepfather, Nicholas; brother, Raymond; and daughter, Cynthia.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Francis (Frank) Dubey; her sons Christopher (Tina) and Kevin (Sheri); grandchildren Christopher (Carol), Todd, Trevor (Alyssa), Emily, Nicole, Patrick, Olive, and Shawn; and many great-grandchildren.
After raising her family in Warren, Michigan, Kathy and Frank built their forever home in Morristown, Tennessee, where they retired in 2003. Frank lovingly says, "Our lives revolved around each other. We were truly partners. We made a really, really, really good team."
A devout Catholic, Kathy was a parishioner at St. Patrick Catholic Church, where she was active in the Women's Group (CCW). For many years, both in Michigan and Tennessee, she and Frank were active on the local dance scene. Kathy was a talented square dancer who sewed many of her own costumes. She was a stylish dresser, a skillful bargain-hunter, and an incredibly generous woman.
Kathy volunteered for many years as a cook and server at The Daily Bread. She served as First Lady when Frank was President of the Cherokee Lake Users Association, was a devoted volunteer for CLUA, and she especially loved spending time on the lake aboard their pontoon boat.
Kathy cared deeply for her family, faithfully prayed the rosary every evening at 7 p.m., and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Arrangements: Friends and Family will be received at St. Patrick Catholic Church between 12:30-1pm on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025. Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m., followed by inurnment at the columbarium and a luncheon.
