Kathleen Aileen Duling, known affectionately as Kitty, passed away at her home in
Hermitage, Tennessee, on July 7, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on March 19, 1955.in
Ste. Marie, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of Albert and Kathleen Massey.
Aileen was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, John William Duling Jr.;
and her sister, Barbara. She is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca; grandchildren,
Christopher and Kiah; and great-granddaughters, Kiah and Svea. Aileen also leaves behind
her siblings: Albert (Gus), Marty, John, Richard, Theresa, Susan, Carolyn, Marilyn, and
Lawrence. Each of whom held a special place in her heart.
A dedicated nurse, Aileen took great pride in her career, devoting herself to the care and
comfort of others. Her strength, independence, and fierce love for her family and friends
were the hallmarks of her life. She was a woman of deep conviction, never afraid to stand
her ground, and always ready with a listening ear, and an open heart.
Aileen had a great love for music and was an exceptional cook, often bringing people
together through the meals she so lovingly prepared. After settling just outside of
Nashville, she built a life filled with meaning, connection, and resilience-a life that
touched all who knew her.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that is where you will
find her.
Aileen's family will hold a memorial to honor her life in Austin, Texas. She will be deeply
missed and forever remembered.
Kathleen will be interned along with her husband, John Duling, at 11:00 am, Monday, July 28, 2025, at Nashville National Cemetery.
