Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Fay 75, passed away at 1:45PM on June 4, 2024, at St. Rita’s
Kathy was born on May 27, 1949, in Lima, Ohio to Paul T. and Victoria A. (Pohlman) McGreevy. On December 6, 1969, she married her high school sweetheart, David Fay, who preceded her in death.
Kathy went to elementary school at St. Rose in Lima, and then to LCC, where she graduated in 1967. After graduation, she attended and graduated from Ft. Wayne International Business College with a degree in office management. Kathy started her career at Standard Oil in Lima before moving to Humble Oil in Norfolk, VA while Dave was stationed there in the Navy. After returning to Lima and raising their family, Kathy began working at Lima City Schools with children with disabilities. Working with these children was an amazing experience and Kathy would always say that the children taught her more about life than she could ever teach them. She retired from LCS in 2012. In addition to her work, Kathy was passionate about animal rescues.
Kathy is survived by her sons, Daniel (Bobby Jo) Fay, Douglas (Deanna) Fay and Christopher (Paige) Fay; grandchildren: Tyler Fay, Ashley Fay, Carlos Briggs, Keyla Briggs, Will Doyle, Xavier Doyle, Keegan Fay, Ireland Fay, Carter Fay, Lillian Fay, Branson Bowerman, Zane Bowerman, Allie Bowerman, Maddie Bowerman, Addison Fay, Emily Fay, Liam Fay, Gabrielle Fay and Kilian Fay; eight great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Stephen Fay; and a sister-in-law Susan (Terry) Luczac; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family was the light of her life.
In addition to her husband, Dave, Kathy was preceded in death by their daughter, Laura Marie Fay, who was the absolute love of her life; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Gallenz.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. The funeral mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at St. Rose Catholic Church.
