Kathleen M. Fortsch, 93, of Caseville, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at United Hospice Residence in Marlette.
Kaye was born August 15, 1928 in Bay City to the late Emmett and Alice (Orr) Foley. She graduated from St. Mary High School in 1947. She married Frederick Fortsch on May 7, 1955 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Bay City; he preceded her in death August 29, 2015.
Kaye began working in banking in 1948 at People's National Bank in Bay City. In 1963 she moved to Caseville, working for Community Bank and retiring in 1990 from Thumb National Bank as Branch Manager of the Caseville location. Kaye was a former member of the American Red Cross and Caseville Kiwanis. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish.
She is survived by her children Daniel of Caseville and Cathy (Dennis) Schuette of Elkton; grandchildren Meaghan Karafa, Maureen (fiancé Jonathon Lipa) Fortsch, Tyler Fortsch, and Jared (Trisha) Schuette; great-granddaughter Sage Karafa; sisters Mary Monti of Chicago and Lillian Foley of Bay City; brother Michael (Marge) Foley of Texas; cousins Bruce and Dean Lockwood; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters Patricia Browning and Joan Barrett.
Funeral mass will be 10:00am Wednesday, November 3rd at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville with Fr. Robert Pare presiding. Visitation will be 2-8 Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon.
Memorials may be made to United Hospice or to the family.
