Kathleen J Garmon

Kathleen J. Garmon 70 of Valparaiso, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026. She was born April 10, 1955 in Valparaiso to Wayne and Garnet (Hill) Wilgus. On May 2, 1981 in Valparaiso she married Robert Garmon who survives. Kathleen is survived by her mother Garnet Wilgus of Valparaiso, her son Jason (Carrie Kretchmer) of Hamlet, two grandchildren Madison and Jocelyn Garmon, her brother Wayne Wilgus of Valparaiso, sisters Jane Mullins and Cheryl Wilgus both of Valparaiso, and Jeni (Jerry) Barton of Wheatfield, Brother-in-Law Steve Garmon, and Sister-in-Law Sandy (Doug) Mathews. She was preceded in death by her father Wayne; her sisters Debra (Bob) Myers and Jill Wilgus, her husband's parents Robert and Shirley (Olsborg) Garmon, Sisters-in-Law Cheryl Garmon, Dawn Garmon, Terry (Jeff) Hollis, and Patti Garmon. Kathleen was a retired cook from the Porter County Juvenile Detention Center. She enjoyed riding a motorcycle with her husband Bob, interacting with the K-9 Unit fundraisers, and spending Christmas with her grandkids. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, March 6th at Bartholomew Funeral Home. Pastor Ken Groves will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Valparaiso Police K-9 Unit.
