Kathleen Ann "Kathy" Gendreau, 80, of Lexington, and loving wife of Robert Norman "Bob" Gendreau passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. A native of Waterloo, Iowa, she was born to the late Elmer Haddeman and Maureen M. (née Dunnwald) Haddeman on February 16, 1945. She was a Christian and a long-time member of St. Luke Church.

After earning an associate's degree from Sullivan University, Kathy built a successful career as a medical office manager in Lexington. Her career path also included insurance sales, running a beauty school, and serving as the payroll director at Keeneland. She was a dedicated employee and productive member of our community.

Kathy was an avid reader and a devoted fan of University of Kentucky Athletics. Many enjoyed attending weekly game nights and UK watch parties at Bob and Kathy's home.

Most of all, Kathy loved and lived for her family. She was very giving in that regard and saw her family as her number one job.

In addition to her dedicated husband of 31 years, she is survived by her children: Steven Powell, Michael Powell, Jennifer Gendreau, and Aimee Gendreau; daughter-in-law and Scott's widow Kristina Powell; six grandchildren: Kylie, Courtney, Wesley, Amber, Jimmy, and Garrick; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by one son Scott Powell and four of her siblings: Susan M. Ransom-Cote, Michael Haddeman, Larry Haddeman, and Pat Haddeman.

Her services will take place on Friday, September 26th at St. Luke Church, 2351 Alumni Drive, Lexington, KY 40517. The visitation for family and friends will take place from 12:00 until 12:30 p.m. Her celebration of life service will begin at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to Bluegrass Care Navigators (https://www.bgcarenav.org/give) or St. Luke Church (https://stlukelex.com/give/).
