Kathleen "Kay" Gover

Kathleen "Kay" Gover, 90, passed away Tuesday. Kay worked with children her entire life including spending many years as the PE teacher at Blossomwood Elementary School and as the preschool director at Faith Presbyterian Church.
As a member of Mt. View Baptist Church, she and Bert led the youth group and were involved with Training Union. Kay was also a Sunday school teacher and worked with Acteens and GAs.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbert "Bert" Gover; and brothers, Perry Schroyer, Jr. and Shelby Schroyer.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Cooney (Matthew) and Mary Elizabeth Gover; son, Willie Gover (Kathy); five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Nancy Mullins (Bill).
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at First Baptist Church Chapel, followed by the service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Holloway officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
