Kathleen Laverty Obituary
Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late David G. and Mary C. (O'Brien) Mooney. Kathy was a lifelong Cumberland resident.
She was employed as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Manager at Madonna Manor, North Attleboro, for 28 years, until her retirement this past February.
She found joy in life's simple, beautiful treasures-whether walking the shoreline in search of seashells, sea glass, and antique bottles, or spending quiet time. Cherished moments with her family. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where she felt most connected to the world, gathering little pieces of history smoothed by the tide. Yet nothing meant more to her than the people she loved, and her happiest days were those spent surrounded by family, sharing stories, laughter, and the comfort of togetherness.
She is survived by her son, Keith Laverty; her brother, William Mooney of Woonsocket; her grandson, Kyler Laverty; her granddaughter, Gianna Laverty, along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family, with whom she enjoyed spending her free time. She is also survived by her lifelong friend Melandie Karol.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home. 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI.

My heart was so sad to hear of Kathy's passing. She was one of my favorite people when I worked at Madonna Manor. Always smiling and kind. My deepest sympathies to her loving family and to Melandie Karol her beloved friend. Kathy will be so missed. She was such a beautiful soul!
