Kathleen Irene Myer, 75, of Niles, died peacefully Saturday, December 6, 2025 Her life began December 30, 1949 in Niles, born to Robert and Irene Leamon. Kathy graduated from Niles High School in 1968. She worked at Simplicity Pattern. She later found her true joy in taking care of her grandchildren and many others that called her Grandma Kathy. Her passion was being involved in her family's lives. Grandma Kathy never missed any of her grandchildren's events, taking pride in making treats for the team-mates and families involved. Kathy enjoyed baking, canning, crocheting, playing card games and most of all, going to the casino with her sister. Kathy will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by one daughter, Tammie (Shawn) Herrman of Buchanan; one son, Dale (Tara) Myer of Niles; five grandchildren, Kylee (Troy) Higgins of Utah, Jaycee Myer of Niles, Lane Herrman of Buchanan, Aynslee Myer of Niles, Lexi Herrman of Buchanan; one sister, Martha Ann Virgil of Niles; and nephew and niece, Obi and Rose Myer and other nieces, nephews, cousins and many others that called her Grandma Kathy. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Leamon II. Family and friends will gather Friday, December 12, 2025 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Halbritter Wickens Funeral Services, 615 East Main Street, Niles, with a short service at 6:00 p.m. Kathy will be laid to rest in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family prefers contributions in memory of Kathy be made to Cass County Medical Care Facility, 23770 Hospital St, Cassopolis, MI 49031 Arrangements have been entrusted to Halbritter Wickens Funeral Services, Niles.
