Kathleen Paige Obituary

Kathleen Paige

July 8, 1938 - February 13, 2026

Kathleen Paige, 87, went into the arms of the Lord peacefully, on Friday, February 13, 2026, at her home, with her family by her side.

Born on July 8th, 1938, in Troy, she was the daughter of Evelyn Newton.

Kathleen was raised by her grandmother Mary VanNess and Uncle Jim VanNess

On June 9th, 1957, Kathleen married the love of her life James Paige. Together Kathleen and James raised 5 children.

Kathleen helped manage & did all the bookkeeping for her husband's business Paige's Service Station for 44 years. She was a devoted Catholic, attending St. Ann's Catholic Church in Fort Ann. She taught church school for many years at St. Ann's Catholic Church and made a lasting impression on everyone she came into contact with. Kathleen was active in starting up the Fort Ann girl's softball little league. Kathleen was never afraid to try something new and truly enjoyed working as a bartender at Crossroads and the Pub. She was an avid gardener and loved working in her many flower beds. She had a special talent for music and entertaining with her accordion and organ. Kathleen loved to cook and anytime you went to the house she would always have a pot of coffee on or offer you something to eat. No one ever went hungry, even when unexpected guests would show up. She was a fan attending many sporting events for both her children and grandchildren. Those who knew Kathleen, knew she was a special person with a kind heart and the door was always open for a visit and a cup of coffee.

In addition to her mother, Kathleen is predeceased by her stepfather Byron Newton Sr., grandmother Mary VanNess & her uncle, Jim VanNess, brothers Arthur and Jack Waters, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Clarissa & Byron Newton, brother-in-Law Hollis Paige, granddaughter Megan Archer and special family member Leo VanNess

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Fort Ann Firehouse, St. Ann's Catholic Church or Fort Ann Rescue Squad.

Calling hours will be at Carleton Funeral Home, 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls on Friday, February 20th, from 4 pm to 6pm.
