Kathleen Spellman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Chapel at Boucher Funeral Home, LLC on Mar. 17, 2026.
Kathleen H. Spellman (nee Newmann) on March 15, 2026 of West Deptford at the age 68 was surrounded by her family and so much love as she went to heaven. Beloved wife of 45 years to Michael Spellman. Loving mother of Michelle Wright (Kevin) of West Deptford, Erin Vatsev (Emi) of National Park, and Steven Spellman (Nicole) of Abington, PA. Devoted Meemee of Mikayla, Luke, Avaleigh, Adalynn, Everett, Alex and Ben. Predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Ray Newmann of Deptford. Along with her immediate family, she leaves behind her siblings Terri, Barry, Rae, Scott, Ginny, Jacki, Roger, and the late Darlene, a large extended family and countless friends.

She was beautiful, strong, and lived a life rooted in love and guided by her faith. Time spent with her family brought her the greatest happiness. From morning coffee and talks with her husband, Mike, to everyday conversations with her children and being a constant presence in her grandchildren's lives, she cherished every moment. You could often find her on the sidelines, courtside or rink-side at her grandchildren's sporting events, cheering them on with pride.

Her family-especially her grandchildren-were the center of her world. She could always be found in the kitchen, preparing delicious meals for her family. She perfected her spaghetti sauce and made the most delicious gravy. She was the heart of every holiday, creating traditions and memories that will be treasured forever. She loved family vacations, GWA trips, summer days by her backyard pool, and time spent with family and friends.

Kathleen was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for 41 years. She had many roles over the years and what she enjoyed the most was being a member of the Guiding Lights and singing in the church choir.

Kathleen's career was primarily spent at Wenonah Medical Associates, working as a medical assistant for over 30 years.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished Meemee-truly more than we could have ever hoped for. The void she leaves behind is immeasurable, and she will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 9am to 11am at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 74 Church St, West Deptford, NJ 08086.

A Religious Service will be celebrated at 11am at the church.

Interment to follow at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 74 Church St, West Deptford, NJ 08086.

Earlier today

I am saddened that you had to leave us, Kathie! Your smile and laughter brightened everything! I will always remember our Spring/Fall Semester trips to Lancaster, with you and Elaine giggling and whispering, when we all went to bed, after our long days of shopping, eating and watching movies! Thank you for those memories! Until we meet again. Watch over your family and friends who will so deeply miss you.
