Kathleen A. Sundell, age 85 of Cridersville, passed at 7:20 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2025 at Otterbein-Cridersville. She was born August 21, 1940 in Mauston, Wisconsin to the late Herbert and Alvina Wilke May.
On December 18, 1965 she married Richard Lewis Sundell, who passed February 11, 2023.
Kathleen was a devoted homemaker and a longtime member of Shawnee Alliance Church. Known for her gentle spirit and deep love for her family, Kathleen found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. An avid reader, she cherished quiet moments with a good book and the warmth of family gatherings.
She is survived by 4 daughters – Cynthia Kay 'Cindy' (Richard) Roderick of Cridersville; Sharon Sue 'Sherry' (Steve) Pierce of Springfield; Jennifer "Jenny" (Michael "Mike") Mitchell of Castro Valley, CA; Sandra 'Sandy' (Mark) Mohr of Cridersville; 8 grandchildren – Steven (Stephanie) Lynch, Lillian 'Lily' Kathleen Lynch, Miles Richard Mitchell, John (Madeline Watson) Mohr, Maverick (Hannah) Mohr, 3 great grandchildren – Levi Lynch, Elleanne Sue Lynch, and Augustine Mohr; 2 brothers – Daniel (Linda) May of WI; Tom (Becky) May of IL; 3 sisters –
Marlene Burdick of WI; Joanie Hanson of WI; and Maggie (Eric) Watson of WI.
She was preceded in death by a brother – John May; 2 brothers-in-law – Dennis Burdick and George Hanson.
Funeral services will begin at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Dr. Rev. Daniel Messner will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
