Kathleen Ann Loyd Wade, 95, of Altamahaw ran into the open arms of her husband, Richard P Wade, Sr, who had been waiting for his beloved wife to meet him in Heaven. They spent almost 73 years together here on earth and now for an Eternity together in Paradise. Kathleen was born in
Roxboro, NC on March 17, 1930, to the late Rachel Griles Loyd and John Robert Loyd, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Loyd Jr. and brothers in law, James Parham, Douglas Knight and one great grand-daughter, Summer Mashburn.
Kathleen was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church of
Burlington, NC. Helping with all the potlucks, Brunswick stew sales and meals at the church were among some of her favorite times that she got to share with lifelong friends from her church and community. Mom wore many hats during her lifetime; as a buyer for the Belk Leggett Company, working at Glenn Raven mills, as a secretary for Wicker Trucking Company and spending her last working years for ABSS as a Cafeteria Manager. raising her three children hand in hand with Dad was her greatest accomplishment.
Treasured in love by her Children, Richard P Wade, Jr (Brenda), Robert Wade (Ruth), and Janet Wade Cook (Mark).
Her grandchildren, Bobby Hunter, Jr., Wayne Hunter (Becky), Mollie Wade Vaughan (David), Kimberly Wade Lutterloh (Adam), John Wade, Jr (Shannon), Katie Wade Haynes (Benji), Darren Cook ( Caitlin), and Dylan Cook (Emily).
Great Grandchildren Autumn Hunter, Bradshaw and Charlie Vaughan, Cameron, Blake and Oakley Lutterloh, Jack, Hollis and Ozzy Wade and Henry and Edward Cook. She is leaving behind her 2 very special sisters, Carolyn Parham and Evelyn Knight, her sister-in-law, Nancy Loyd, several sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
Kathleen loved the Lord, and she loved her family. She loved making memories on long Saturday and Sunday afternoons traveling to the mountains just to see the leaves turning or the apples being picked. She looked forward to any opportunity to go to the beach just to eat at some of her favorite restaurants. Mom just loved traveling anywhere with Dad and the family. She will truly be missed.
We would love to thank the following for their love and care for mom and our family: Liberty Commons, Liberty HomeCare & Hospice Services, Meals on Wheels, Velma Wagoner, Nan Greene and St. Marks Community Church caring and card ministry.
